Voting in the School-Aged Programs Is Now Open!

The Forest of Reading is one of the few programs in Canada that puts the power in the hands of the readers by allowing them to choose the award winners.

During April, readers will vote for their favourite nominated titles and choose the winners of the award programs. The winners of 2022 will be announced
virtually on May 17, 18, and 19, 2022 in partnership with CBC Books.

Links to the voting forms, voting materials, and information on how you can run
voting this year* are on the password portion of the website.  You can log in with your own credentials, or use the generic one:

Username: forest@accessola.com
Password: 2022Forest!

*Click on the tile that says VOTING in the top right-hand corner.
How Readers Vote

All voting resources including Voting Day Signs, Polling Station Signs, Ballots, Vote summary and the link to submit totals are on the VOTING PAGE.*

OPTION 1: Participants can vote by casting paper ballots in their schools and libraries, and many use their internal school/library communication tools (i.e. setting up your own Google Form to collect your data, etc.). Then they can be entered together as a group as the way it has been done in the past.

OPTION 2: Virtual learners or at-home readers can also vote using the links below. Just send the links to the parents through your school/library communication tools. They just enter their vote only for their choice by putting the number 1 in the box with the book they are choosing.

As library professionals or parents/guardians, we are leaving it up to you to decide which readers can vote. Also, under the General Resources page, you will find Manuals on how to run the program and in those manuals are suggestions for voting.
How to Submit Votes

Submit the votes electronically any time between April 1 and May 1. (Submit only the totals. We do not require individual ballots or the hard copy of your Group Vote Summary Form.)

Submit them through these forms for each program:

Let all the Canadian young readers exercise their civic duty and vote for their favourite books!
Happy Reading!

Just a friendly reminder…
The Forest of Reading titles are curated lists selected by library professionals from the school and public library sectors. The Forest of Reading does not own the rights to the nominated titles. Purchasing a hard copy or alternate format of the book (ebook, audio book etc.) is the responsibility of the school, library or family that is running the program. The publishers of the books are the ones that dictate the permissions and rights for their titles.
