Happy Ontario Public Library Week!

Ontario Public Library Week - October 17 to October 23, 2021 - is an opportunity to recognize, promote and showcase the programs, services and accomplishments of Ontario’s public libraries. This year's OPLW theme is "One card, one million possibilities / Une carte, un million de possibilités."

COVID-19 has demonstrated the critical importance of public libraries to communities across the province. Ontario’s public libraries have worked tirelessly to meet the evolving and rapidly changing needs of the people they serve.

Message from The Hon. Lisa MacLeod, Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries

To officially open Ontario Public Library Week, we’re thrilled to share a special message from the Minister, Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries (‘the Minister of Libraries’!). Watch the Ministers remarks in English and with French subtitles
Thank you to Minister MacLeod for her leadership in supporting public libraries throughout the pandemic and celebrating the essential role that libraries have played to the communities across Ontario.

Starting Sunday, October 17, please share this video in your own networks – by social media, your website, or in your libraries. Access the video online in English and with French subtitles or through the OPLW shareable Dropbox folder.
October is Canadian Library Month! During this month, libraries and library partners across Canada raise awareness of the valuable role libraries play in Canadians' lives. In Ontario, the first week of October features First Nations Public Library Week from October 4 to October 8 (administered by OLS.) Digital graphics for OPLW and CLM are now available to download from a shareable Dropbox folder. You can access the folder here or through the OPLW webpage.
